Pirece Hoover
- Editor Power Crusing-
"With the interior volume and deck space of a much larger
monohull - and with best in class fuel economy, the IPS equipped Africat 420 is one of the most exciting power cruisiers to enter the market in some time"

Capt. Grant Rafter
- Assitant Editor Power & Motorboat -
"The Africat 420's enormous salon, superb ventilation, easy manouverability and shallow draft give her all the makings for a great Caribbean cruising powerboat - even if you never leave the States"

Editor
- SkiBoat -
"A fishing cockpit that not only works from a big game fishing perspective, but is also functional for light tackle game fishing. She has all the facilities - and looks good as well, while providing a safe aft platform from which to fish. .......they have exceeded the practical expectation of turning a luxury offshore cruising power catamaran into an efficient sportfishing craft."
Vince Daniel
- Yacht review Capt. for Motorboating -
"The Africat's hulls are designed to cut through waves, so our test boat ran comfortably at 15knts into steep 4 footers as we excited the Ft Lauderdale inlet. The boat did not pound in any speed once we were offshore. The wide beam kept her from rocking in beam seas and the directional thrust of the Volvo IPS provided fingure tip control in following seas."

Kennith Masi
- Yacht review Capt. for Southern boating -
This boat is clearly meant for hearty everyday use with a design that focuses on the functional. The interior is a combination of luxury and utility. Africat Marine uses American brands for appliances, Electronics and Marine equipment to ensure their customers have valid warranties and proper service in the States.

CHRISTENING OF THE NEWEST AFRICAT 420 “CATALYST”
Join Marge and Jim Leenhouts as they act to lessen the depletion of a natural resource needed to combat global warming. With genuine regret that this action will certainly affect their former sailing life-style, the Leenhouts’ remain steadfast that they must do everything they can to preserve one of precious natural resources-one that is widely used to produce electrical energy and cooling breezes.
IT’S A FACT THAT:
“SAILBOATS SUCK UP PERFECTLY GOOD WIND”
In this effort, the Leenhouts will christen a novel, remarkable, sea-going apparatus that will move through the pristine Ocean Environment without disturbing wind or wind patterns.
As equally concerned individuals, you are invited to join the Leenhouts’ and the all-volunteer Christening Team to protest dangerous sailboat wind absorption (SWA). We must preserve every bit of remaining wind we possibly can –saving it to keep our progeny cool until the next ice age.
(Small, insignificant gifts are discouraged, but if you feel so moved, as many will, by the Leenhouts’ contribution to the environment, the new owners will accept jerry cans of #2 diesel fuel.)
NOTE: The ARI-CAT TEAM wish Marge and Jim fair winds and small seas. We trust they will take heart from the fact that their new acquisition only burns 1 gal / hr @ 18knts, which does make them one of the most eco friendly boaters around! |
